Abstract
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict represents one of the protracted crises shaped by historical narratives and cultural biases rooted in Orientalism and Occidentalism. This study explores how these two frameworks influence global perspectives and create biased narratives related to the conflict. With a historical-critical approach, and using historical methods consisting of four stages, namely, heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. This study analyzes primary sources, media representations, and policy documents to reveal the impact of these narratives on conflict resolution efforts. The findings show that Orientalism often legitimizes Israel's actions as a manifestation of Western modernity, while Occidentalism views Israel as a tool of Western imperialism. These conflicting views hinder the development of just and balanced solutions. This study also highlights the role of international institutions, such as the United Nations (UN), as well as the contribution of Indonesian diplomacy in supporting peace. This study contributes to the discourse on conflict resolution by offering a reconstruction of the narrative through equal and empathetic dialogue.
