Abstrak

Tulisan ini hendak memaparkan Pondok Pesantren Al-Zaytun yang sempat menuai kontroversi, hal itu tidak lepas dari pernyataan-pernyataan Panji Gumilang sebagai pimpinan lembaga tersebut. Maka dari itu, peneltian ini bertujuan mengetahui kontroversi Al-Zaytun serta menawarkan moderasi agama sebagai jawabaan atas permasalahan tersebut. Menggunakan penelitian kepustakaan, penelitian ini mendapatkan kesimpulan, bahwa moderasi beragama merupakan konsep yang sudah baku secara menyeluruh,  serta dianggap penting dalam menyelesaikan kasus ekstrimisme, radikalisme dan lain sebagainnya. Tentunya dengan mengedepankan sikap moderat, termasuk masalah al-Zaytun, untuk menyelesaikan itu semua, dibutuhkan cara yang arif dan bijaksana dari berbagai pihak.
