Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Islamic microfinance on the empowerment of women entrepreneurs from a socioeconomic perspective, as well as to identify the challenges faced by women in utilizing this financing. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document studies involving women entrepreneurs who have received Islamic microfinance in Indonesia. The findings indicate that Islamic microfinance significantly enhances income, access to capital, and the development of small businesses for women. Approximately 80% of respondents reported an increase in income, while 72% experienced greater participation in household decision-making. However, challenges such as low financial literacy and social-cultural barriers remain obstacles, with 35% of respondents indicating a need for further support in financial management. The implications of this research suggest that to enhance the effectiveness of Islamic microfinance, Islamic financial institutions should strengthen financial literacy training programs and support more inclusive social changes. This study provides important insights for policymakers and financial institutions in designing more effective strategies for empowering women entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
