TIME Journal: Transformation of Islamic Management and Education is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal adheres to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) where applicable.
All parties involved in the publication process including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, fairness, accountability, and academic honesty.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to TIME Journal are expected to comply with the following ethical principles:
ü Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must submit only original works that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. All sources, ideas, data, figures, and quotations derived from other works must be properly acknowledged and cited. The journal applies plagiarism screening to every submission prior to peer review.
ü Accuracy of Reporting
Authors must present research findings honestly, accurately, and objectively. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, selective reporting, or misleading interpretation of research results constitute serious ethical misconduct.
ü Multiple, Duplicate, or Concurrent Submission
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Duplicate publication in substantially similar form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
ü Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
ü Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or presentation of the research.
ü Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment must be given to all publications, datasets, software, funding agencies, and individuals whose contributions have influenced the research.
ü Ethical Approval
Research involving human participants, interviews, surveys, observations, or personal data must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional regulations. Authors should indicate that informed consent and ethical approval were obtained whenever required.
ü Corrections and Retractions
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obliged to notify the editorial office promptly and cooperate in issuing corrections, retractions, or other appropriate notices.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of the journal through fair, transparent, and unbiased editorial practices.
Editors shall:
ü Evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's scope.
ü Maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and author information.
ü Ensure a fair, independent, and confidential double-blind peer-review process.
ü Avoid discrimination based on nationality, gender, ethnicity, religion, political beliefs, or institutional affiliation.
ü Refrain from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
ü Take appropriate action in cases involving plagiarism, research misconduct, ethical violations, or publication malpractice.
ü Make publication decisions based solely on scholarly merit and reviewers' recommendations.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the scientific quality of the journal.
Reviewers are expected to:
ü Conduct reviews objectively, constructively, and within the agreed review period.
ü Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all submitted manuscripts.
ü Provide clear, evidence-based, and respectful comments that assist authors in improving their work.
ü Identify relevant published works not cited by the authors whenever appropriate.
ü Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns.
ü Decline review invitations if they have conflicts of interest or lack sufficient expertise.
4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher of TIME Journal is committed to supporting editorial independence and ensuring ethical publishing practices.
The publisher shall:
ü Safeguard the editorial independence of the editorial board.
ü Ensure that commercial interests do not influence editorial decisions.
ü Support investigations into allegations of research or publication misconduct.
ü Preserve the integrity, accessibility, and long-term availability of published scholarly content.
5. Research Integrity
TIME Journal promotes responsible research practices and does not tolerate any form of research misconduct, including but not limited to:
ü Plagiarism
ü Self-plagiarism
ü Data fabrication
ü Data falsification
ü Citation manipulation
ü Image manipulation
ü Guest, gift, or ghost authorship
ü Undisclosed conflicts of interest
ü Duplicate publication
ü Peer-review manipulation
Any suspected misconduct will be investigated in accordance with internationally recognized ethical guidelines. Depending on the severity of the violation, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction, issue an expression of concern, retract the article, notify the author's institution, or take other appropriate editorial actions.
6. Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit appeals regarding editorial decisions or complaints concerning the editorial process. Appeals must be supported by clear academic arguments and will be reviewed independently by the Editor-in-Chief or an appointed Editorial Ethics Committee. The journal is committed to handling all appeals fairly, transparently, and promptly.
7. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections
TIME Journal welcomes legitimate scholarly discussion after publication. When necessary, the journal may publish corrections, corrigenda, errata, expressions of concern, or retractions to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
