Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between classroom management strategies implemented by teachers and students' learning motivation at SD Negeri 16 Banyuasin. The main focus of this research is to identify effective classroom management strategies and assess their impact on student engagement and enthusiasm during the learning process. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Data were collected through direct classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of instructional documents. Data collection was conducted through triangulation to enhance the validity of the findings. The results of the study indicate that classroom management strategies involving reward systems, consistent and fair discipline enforcement, and the use of varied instructional methods can create a conducive learning environment and significantly enhance students' learning motivation. Students showed greater enthusiasm and active participation when these strategies were implemented in an integrated manner. However, the research also identified challenges, particularly among students who lacked adequate learning support from their home environment, leading to lower levels of motivation. The implications of this research highlight the importance of providing teacher training in designing adaptive and context-sensitive classroom management strategies. Furthermore, it underscores the need for educational policies that strengthen the role of teachers as effective facilitators of learning. The study also recommends fostering collaborative efforts between schools and families to optimize students’ learning motivation.
